“ Food was delicious but wait staff at lunch time was preoccupied with preparing for dinner service rather than waiting on guests. Ended up needing to stand and walk to the front to receive the check, Togo boxes, and again offer the paid bill back. Ordered off the limited lunch menu- was excellent but be wary of slim pickings. ”
“ Always a good time here! Wonderful service & lots of food and beverage options, that fit many budgets. Try the blended cold brew on a hot day - perfect! {note: this review is for the to-go cafe adjacent to the main restaurant} ”
“ Kermit Lynch Wine Dinner featuring J. Lassalle Champagne, Cachet D'or NV #jlassallechampagne I'm not a champagne drinker, and it's just okay for me. Domaine Comte Abbatucci Rose, Corcisa 2023 #domainecomteabbatucci A perfect pair with Prosciutto Black Fig Flatbread - my fave! It was paired with Pear and Almond Crostata, which was a little hard to eat. I wish the crostata served crispier and warm. Otherwise, it's an excellent pairing menu. It was a lovely evening of good wines and food, excellent service, and nice table mates. We'll certainly be back! ”
“ The village bakery is definitely always on my list of places to eat at when I'm in the bay area, especially gorgeous Woodside. The parking situation has gotten out of control, however, there was a Parking Enforcement on site to help direct the chaos. Luckily, I found a spot on the empty side of Roberts market, and park there instead to jog across the street to the restaurant. I requested a table on the back patio, which is very private and beautiful, and was not disappointed. The table was a small for top, and With the amount of food and drinks that we had, we really needed a bigger table. There was a six top in the corner that would suffice, and we asked the waiter if we could move and he thought it would be OK however he had to check first. Upon returning, the answer was no. And that table remained empty the entire time we were there. And you can imagine our disappointment. Onto the food! We all started with cocktails as I had a corpse survivor too, and the other guest had a French 75 and a piece sour, we also ordered gluten-free cornbread for the table which never disappoints. We ended up eating the family style and split a couple of dishes, such as the delicious brand new menu item the chicken fried steak with the black pepper gravy, and of course, the fried chicken sandwich with the delicious coleslaw. We got lucky, as we knew someone that we had worked with before in the food industry who was now at the Village bakery. Sending our table a sampling of delicious desserts, which we ate every single bit! I forgot to mention that cocktail service was slow, as the food arrived before the cocktails... That was the only Stfu. Otherwise, and overall another fantastic meal company with lovely company, in a gorgeous setting on a beautiful Sunday for brunch! ”
“ I love the ambiance of this place. The parking is a bit confusing. There's a lot in the front that was full, a parking attendant, you can talk to and then park. The front door has an alcove. Everyone seems to wait to be seated even with reservations. There's a formal dining area that you can see with white table cloths. There's a back area with more greenery, looks like an open covered roof, lots of windows and heaters. It's just a gorgeous relaxing looking place. If you are in a rush, this is not the place for you. We came for Sunday brunch, our waitress, took our order, brought our coffees, it did take a bit. We ordered the James Beard Pancakes. These were misnamed. These need the lemon butter and you have to add the slow cooked blueberries. Great to try and see what it is, but hmmm, not a favorite. I expected a delicious fluffy Japanese souffle pancake, but these are kind of dense, not fluffy, or pancake like. They do look delicious. We had the shakshouka, poached eggs, moroccan-spiced tomato sauce and toasted levain. The egg whites were too watery to us. They were super happy to cook it more for us. Sauce & eggs were much better then. Coffee was fine. The ambiance was great. Servers nice. Prices are up, but a place to snack on food, and relax with coffee is always nice. ”
“ Great time here thanks to our server, Javier, as well as the two hostesses who accommodated us to be on the back patio. The back patio area is so cute it feels like Christmas time and the semi-enclosure keeps it warmer than the exposed front outdoor patio. Javier was great in explaining the specials for the day and helped guide us to the perfect choices. The heirloom tomato salad was a great start. The nice, meaty tomatoes and a delicious balsamic glaze drizzle on top worked beautifully against the creamy burrata. I enjoyed the mushroom rigatoni with added chicken and my husband had the flank steak. Both great choices. The apple pie was a wonderful ending to the night. Great experience overall thanks to Javier and the incredible staff who helped clear our plates, fill our waters, etc. With this restaurant being only 5 minutes from our house, we will absolutely be back and asking for Javier again. ”
